The Trooper eliminates the escort

A GOONDIWINDI fabricator, Aaron Stewart of Aaron’s Ag Services, has designed and fabricated a 24m forward folding toolbar named the “Trooper” which can fold down to 3.6m wide and eliminates escort requirements when travelling.

Such a design such helps make transportation easier for both the farmer who needs to travel between properties, and the contractor who is constantly travelling.

According to Aaron, who custom made the Trooper specifically for his innovative farming client who was looking for ways to improve his farming Neville Boland, of Mt Surprise, Moonie; this is really the way of the future, particularly for ease of transport.

“The Trooper’s intuitive design, tailoring to Australian conditions is enabled by eliminating the hassle of end tow toolbars by not requiring to un-hitch from the machine, but simply hydraulically folds the unit forward within a matter of minutes for transport,” Aaron explained.

Although similar machines are being used in other countries, this one has been adapted to Australian farming conditions.

“And if you’re worried about ground clearance, the machine boasts a huge 65cm under disc clearance for ease of transport and service.”

The Trooper Toolbar can fit double disc units of any type and configuration to suit requirements.

The prototype toolbar has been set up to single skip configuration using Mason units to plant cotton and sorghum on the Boland farm in the Moonie district and is currently covering 20ha per hour.

“So far it has done in excess of 1000ha without any hiccups, and Neville is very impressed.”

This toolbar was setup to tow an air cart to deliver fertiliser to the units.

The toolbar is set up with full hydraulic circuits for vacuum fans and air cart auxiliaries together with any electrical work required, so that upon delivery to the customer, they just need to hook up, fill up, calibrate and start planting

New varieties of dry land cotton make broadacre planting far more attractive to the average farmer and this is where this toolbar really shines.

The Trooper Toolbar can be custom made to individual requirements and will accept any make of planting unit whether new or used.

Aaron is committed to continual development of machinery and farmers needs.

Aaron has lived on the land for most of his life and when he is not running his fabrication business, he’s farming his family’s 3600 acre property.
